Cayuse Implementation
About Cayuse
Many university departments can look forward to the implementation of the new electronic Research Administration (eRA) platform, Cayuse. The Office of Research Services (ORS) is hosting this project which will implement a system that supports the entire research lifecycle — including proposal submission, grant management, compliance monitoring and reporting. The project aims to streamline administrative tasks and reduce the amount of time spent on manual processes.
CAYUSE will streamline the research lifecycle, reduce administrative burden, and enable faculty to focus on high-impact research. All of these outcomes support Pillar IV of the Strategic Plan. This project also aligns with Loyola’s investments in research infrastructure and its R1 classification, reinforcing its commitment to scholarly excellence and societal impact.
Campus Benefits
Depending on your role on campus, you can expect exciting upgrades to your work experience like these below:
- Improvements in research administration and business process management as well as increased “Ease of Use” & supportability of systems and processes.
- Ensured compliance and increased ability of faculty to compete for research funding opportunities through more efficient research administrative processes.
- Ability to integrate workflows that foster collaboration among teams that support grant applications and awards.
We will also be implementing modular “add-ons” that allow us to integrate various regulatory elements of the grant (e.g., Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Institutional Review Board, Conflict of Interest, Tech Transfer, and more).
